Add to, or replace the seal felt in the front plate. You can't put too much felt in. Oil it also. There should be a setscrew under the snout with a locknut on it. This keeps the bearing race from coming out the front. Also, inside the snout, at the bottom where the bearing race goes, there is a cast...

Yep. Oh...Turntable info.....If you install 5/8 balls and it drags, cut or grind 1/8 or so off the cup. Most have a faint line you can see. Do the inner circle also. Leave the top half be, it's ok.

I think it's just 1/2 inch round stock. The bolt is a good idea.

No. Just grind the bottom of the pipe shoulder flat.

Drill and weld one, or drill tap and screw one in. Make sure it's oil tight, I think that passage for it may go thru the inside of the snout. Or maybe not.

Steve, for the record, after I designed and started building them, I never quite got into regular production, because like I said, life got in the way. However, jigs, fixtures, and other proto's and other things are done, just need to tweak a few things. PM me your address, I'll send you a pamphlet....
