Maybe try first, then if needed. If so, you could do that on the tower, however it won't hurt anything to put it on anyway.
I just purchased some radiator stop leak and will try that tomorrow, and then JB Weld as well. This mill is for a customer so I certainly do not want to wait until the mill ...

Re: A602
The A602 main shaft babbitt is actually three separate bearings.
The one at the outer end of the snout is maybe 3 1/2" or 4" long and has an oil passage on the top of the bearing that runs back toward the motor from the oil collector. This passage is the RETURN passage for oil scraped from the ...

Stop leak?
I'm rebuilding an Aermotor B602. Manufacture date 1922. Cupped turntable, drain on bottom front of the gearbox. No plugs to drive out pinion pins. No U-bolt holes in hub.
i have the motor disassembled, have done needed repairs and am preparing to reassemble. I did a bit of welding on the hub to ...

Re: Woodmanse Mogul
I took down a 12' Mogul years ago. Wound up selling it to Ralph Wiebusch, who had it re-galvanized and installed it to re-circulate water from a small pond.

Re: Windmill and tower markings - black paint / ink

Re: Spray can, "Cold Galvanizing." Not sure about this one. Thoughts?

Re: 502 oil system
Thirty plus years ago I took down a D502. I think I wound up selling it to Ed Meyer of Wausau, WI. Somewhere in the weeds I have the motor from a B502.mattshup wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 3:16 pm Slightly off topic, did they make anything bigger than an 8 foot in the 502 model?

Re: B602 aer motor head questions
And why couldn't you get the shaft out? Did you remove the oil collector?
