Does it matter what type of oil to use?

Hey everyone. I am getting ready to stand up my windmill but I was thinking I should lubricate the head first. Is there oil or something I should be putting in or what steps should I be doing before I stand it up? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the help. Looking at this and mine I believe you both are correct. Tail frame looks to be bent so I plan to start off by straightening that. It also looks like the buffer "spring cushion" is also bent and not hitting where it is suppose to leading to the vane touching the wheel....

Thank you. As you can see the vane has been getting caught in the rotor. Should the vane be parallel or perpendicular to the rotor? Would a new spring help with this or what is the best way to fix this?

Thanks everyone. I will look to take some pictures and post them. Is there a good way to determine the type of mill? The only thing I have been able to find is a name on the gearbox. Timken Braking Equipment and it is approximately 40ft high.
