Re: What does everyone use for paint on blades? Looking for that galvanized look again.

I use both the cold galvanizing for preservation and Hammered for the look. Hammered needs a careful application scheme to avoid streaks and linear patterns. I find it at Home Depot, Lowes and occasionally at garage and estate sales. A fish oil based primer is highly recommended, too.

I have Super model 37's (Timken roller bearings, bronze tail bushings, etc). These got a fancier tail scheme. Other side got a nice logo, too.

Re: Dempster #01201N Main Shaft Removal

Could you use spacers behind the castle nut to push it out ? At least to put some pressure on the shaft while you heat it. I would heat the casting next with a propane weed burner but it could ruin the bearing. The expansion should break rust and corrosion free. Then the castle nut pressure should ...

Re: Stolen windmill

Scrappers looking for a few bucks ? Check out the local junk yards. Find out who may have rented a telehandler at the same time.

This works for me. Careful, after 100+ psi, you can blow a line. Couple this with air stone in the pond. This is a semi-trailer lift axle spring. Bought it off of ebay. Under 59 bucks.

You can use the 'pull' stroke to compress it or a criss-cross at the ground to expand it.
