Re: Trailer wind generator

I had one of these. While pulling it with the truck, I mistakenly hooked the power cable up to the trailer plug. Power surged thru to the truck's 200 amp alternator and drove the motor so hard that I couldn't stop it. Ran under a bridge to knock it down and successfully got it slowed down. Sold the ...

Re: Windmill sails

A slip-roll fixes these sails very nicely. With the bead in there, you just don't feed the beaded end into the roll let it stick out a few inches. Done. Or, roll out the bead and re-brand it after the fact with a bead roller.

Re: Been mulling this over-electricity

An 8' wheel in a hurricane is good for about 1.5 h.p. So, your not gunna run the A/C off of one. But, get some graphite, Beryllium or heavy water and some plutonium. It's all over the markets in N. Korea and Iran. They share an Ebay account. Then use the pump rod to cycle the graphite etc. moderator...

Re: Top 10 mistakes people make with windmills

1). "No, it's not for sale, I'm gunna fix it up". 2). Stood the tower up with the head, fan, or tail on with the crane and then had to climb the ladder remove the hook because it wouldn't drop out. As soon as I started up the ladder, a wind gust caught it, and came down on me. I maneuvered...

Re: Spoke install on A602

I sure lost a lot of hair working on that problem. I can't remember exactly, but it seems like you stick them in backwards one hole at a time and do a round about face to get them in place. No bending or swearing required.

A Youtube video would save a lot of lives here.

Re: New steel vs old steel

I no longer climb. SAM_0050.JPG Made a jib arm to raise up the mills intact and drop them on the turntable using the ground controls. I remove the man basket and clip on the jib arm. (There is a safe way to do this in the JLG design). Then I put the basket back on and head on up to sew up the patient.
