Me too…I try not to stray from the early wind electrics but there’s something about the open gears. They’re kinetic sculptures with patina.

Good motor/generator repair shops are getting rare in this throw away world. I know some still do exist. Probably want to search your area so you don’t have to ship. What brand/model is your wind gen?

As you approach a windmill (or wind charger), make sure you check the area around the base. Tendency is to look up as you approach.
