This cap was used by a wind electric company called Aerodyne. It was fairly common for the wind gen companies to use windmill towers. Thought it might be Dempster but not certain

The phone # doesn’t seem to work. Is there another way to reach him? My contact info is in my profile if you want to share it with Owen.

Re: Open gear Aermotor
I may add some stiffeners too. It’s like they only designed it for the gravity load and forgot about wind load. Maybe they were just cheap. Is the tilt up literature available on the web somewhere?
Thanks

Open gear Aermotor
I’m looking for an open gear Aermotor to put on my 40’ tilt tower. Prefer a complete mill, ready to go. Not particular on year. I have a few 1903 RA parts, main casting, misc worn out parts, also a good bell hub. Cash or trades for parts and/or a wind electric.

Texas Early Day Engine & Tractor Show
I displayed a few early wind electrics in Temple, Tx this weekend. Always a great show and a lot of interest in the old wind machines, this year was no exception.

Re: Bell hub Aermotor questions
Thanks Ed, sounds like the bell hub is the odd part in the bunch. Your date for the mainframe casting is a little later than my understanding of when the tilt towers were made. Useful info, thanks.

Bell hub Aermotor questions
Need help deciphering casting numbers on a bell hub Aermotor. Appears to be a hodgepodge of parts, the few I have. Most have A02 and the bell hub 89. They were with a 40’ steel tilt up. Like to know if could have been original to the tower or is motor earlier. Restore or part out advice also appreci...

Re: Does anyone know of a manufacturer/brand/model of a vintage/retro style wind generator?
You won’t find a modern company making windmill style wind gens for a good reason, it’s a bad idea. The earliest wind gens 100 yrs ago used windmill wheels until about 1925 when they wised up and figured out the propeller was more efficient. There are many propeller type pre REA wind gens out there ...
