Babbit bearing install
Putting the long bearing and shaft together the babbit lead is blocked by a small threaded part (711). Oil socket. This part that receives the oil collector interferes with the Babbit. Question= do I file off babbit lead until it clears or does this piece (711) knock out? It looks like a press fit ...

Re: Why this etching
Yeah, I have never seen anything like this. There is the through pin that keeps all in line, but this must be extra tightness is all I can imagine. Must of been done at factory, on the Babbitt replacement I saw somewhere to cut a groove with hacksaw blade for lubrication….yes or no? Mt blah, wow i ...

Re: Aermotor stroke length

I can always change stroke length on tower. I am also trying to understand the pump rod, from the gearbox to the plunger p ...

Aermotor stroke length
I am restoring a 702 with 8 ft blade. It appears one can go long or short stroke changing pivots on large gear set and also two options on gear arms? I assume less water pumped per stroke on short length, but operates on lower winds? Also, I need the pipe fitting where the 3/8” rod goes through a T w ...
