I might could get some rough cypress or white oak Dan, but I’ll have to rob a bank first. Lol

Re: Aermotor D702 - 33’

When y’all build a wooden platform for an Aermotor, what do you use? This is my third one and I’ve always used treated pine, 2X12. Problem is, Aermotor used 1.25” lumber, and the bolts aren’t long enough to go through two, 1.5” boards. I’ve heard it was white oak. That would be very expensive today....

Re: Aermotor D702 - 33’

After speaking with Ron Stauffer, it was brought to my attention that the pitman arms needed the gap on each side, to collect oil. So, I went back and machined it out. Made a few more parts and got it all back together. Ready to go in the air. And thanks again Ron for catching that.

Re: Aermotor D702 - 33’

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I do wish I had wrapped some shimstock around the sides before I put the damming putty on. It would have let it come out in the sides better.

Got the arms poured. Not the best job but you won’t be able to see it with the bonnet on. Lol

Re: Aermotor D702 - 33’

Kevin, no need to delete. We’re all here to help each other. I would recommend this, if you’re going to build a tower, it would be advantageous to at least get a stub tower for whatever mill you plan to put on it. Then build from there down.
