Re: B-702 Platform size and tower placement

Here's a few photos of the platform on our B702. It's made of 2"x12" boards. You are correct, the corner holes are for mounting the platform. The platform bolts are 'L' shaped. Hope this helps.

It's an interesting pump for sure. I have not done any research.... will wait until a rainy day or this winter.

Re: Baker force pump packing nut

I appreciate all of the input. One weekend I'll loosen the nut and see if there is any packing, or a place to put packing. I'll share what I find.

We love our handpump and so will deal with the leaky nut for now.

Cylinder pump leathers

Cylinder pump leathers.... how long do they last? Do they wear out due to use, age, hardness of water, a combination of all?

Just curious. My well is 3 years old now and I only occasionally to rarely pump, so curious if utilization prolongs life, or if age gets 'em no matter what.

Re: Do I Really Need the Pump Rod?

I have the pump rods on all of my spinners. It appears to keep the crossheads running true and oiling properly. Set your furl spring on light tension and it won't easily overspeed.

rockingjl, our mills are behind me in the photos. We live on a private airport, so the towers cannot be too close to the runway.

Reeves TiteKote

I believe this is a sail section from a Heller-Aller Baker mill. Been sitting in my shop for a couple of years. Today I noticed faint lettering on one of the sails. It appears that Heller-Aller sourced their galvanized sheet from Reeves TiteKote??? Not a very exciting find, but thought I'd share. 20...
