Re: Wincharger 12 v charge controller??
I have a 1978 200 watt Winco Wincharger. My local bearing house, a manufacturing place cant locate the thrust bearing or washers. Im needing to acquire a set for the unit to sit on, on the the tower stub. Also...is there a replacement amp-meter to fit the original blue control unit? I am not having ...

Re: fly ball governors or electric dump load
Thanks for response: In my application im using a low rpm alternator PMA like Thermadyne, or Hurricane Power in California, or Missouri Wind & soar offer. They would be ac, 3 wires to rectifier etc.

Re: fly ball governors or electric dump load
Need to add clarity: I am building a bench test model of a "Centrifugal Force Activated" self feathering prop system. Im setting it up to not exceed 250 rpm about. (Previous turbines I used 7:1 belt drive on auto style alternator...before today's pma and pmg's). Want to use a Thermadyne Max Core or ...

fly ball governors or electric dump load
Hi, question: Are any type of fly ball or mechanical centrifugal force over-speed governors less effective then dump load over-speed control? I do see some larger 5000 watt and bigger wind turbines that have mechanical air governors. I'm wondering where the "cross-over" point is in wattage out put ...

200 watt wincharger tower stub Q
Building a stub portion to fit existing 1978 200 watt wincharger. The generator part is a 1 inch steel pipe. If i fit it into 1 1/4" pipe of home built tower stub part...seems too sloppy. Was a type of bronze bushing used or just go with the 3/16" play/ wiggle.

Re: Wincharger stub tower pic
wow....you are so kind...thank you. I do have a 20ft piece of 2 inch k copper...perfect size for new rings. Thanks again!!!
Is there available brushes that go in collar? It appears mine are worn at slight angle...like the pipe had slack...a bit. Where the 1inch generator pipe slipped into tower stub.

This is for a typical late 1970's 200watt 12volt Wincharger

Re: Wincharger 12 v charge controller??
Thank you sir. Nice looking panel....I know I need to put a 30 amp diode in line to battery bank. I cant rust existing electronics obviously...unless I can buy exact replacement panel parts. Back in the day it appears you went out side and manually pulled rope to apply brake once batteries were ...

Wincharger 12 v charge controller??
1978 Wincharger 12 volt, 200 watt has what appears to be a 1st generation charger controller? Ive talked to those who used to be Wincharger Dealers...said never seen a 200 watt 12 volt unit with supplemental electronics, transistors, diodes etc? There is an additional 12 or 14 gauge positive wire ...
