That isn’t that bad. I posted a mast pipe replacement of a W series at some point in a prior thread. You could weld it up and use a grinder or flap disc to smooth it back down. Consider adding a grease zerk on the stay.

Monitor WB mill pipe wear?
Working on finally rebuilding a David Bradley I have to add to my collection, got it all taken apart and gonna blast stuff and get ready for paint. Just have a question, is this amount of wear concern for anything on the bottom of the pipe?

I would have to check again on which brand windmill and what book I read it in, but I remember reading that all the windmills were allotted different plots to erect their mills, with limits on height. I THINK it was Aermotor but again, id have to double check, someone with Aermotor got permission ...

what is the best attachment point??
Best attachment point is the “hoop”. Easy to lift from there. Also helps to take some rope and tie it around the tailbone buffer over to the 3 o’clock outside sail band (if you’re looking at it from behind) to keep the windmill open and balanced while lifting ...
