Re: Mounting Dempster #12 on Aermotor Tower
Thanks Paul, thank makes sense but brings up another question. Will the Aermotor top collar clamp still be usable, able to slide down far enough and still fit? Or with the Dempster tower cap is it just no longer necessary?

Mounting Dempster #12 on Aermotor Tower
I have been trying to locate a tower to mount my Dempster #12 on and have located 3 different Aermotor towers at reasonable prices. Can anyone tell me what type of modifications or new parts I will need to make or purchase. Originally I thought I could just use a Dempster tower cap. Then I saw that ...

Anchoring tower for 8' Dempster
My tower was a 3-legged 40' when I took it down. The bottom 10' was damaged and I did not want it that tall anyway so it was removed. My question is about anchoring the existing tower now. Most of what I have read says it should be 4' to 5' deep for the anchors. What I am planning on doing is ...

Re: Another Dempster 12 Project
Windy Bob, Thanks so much for you help and explanations. I think some lights are starting to come on for me.
I appears to me then that my engine is for a 6' #12 and my wheel and vane are for a 8' #12A. Since the Dempster Assembly instructions show the pipe mast clamp and the hole in the pipe mast ...

Re: Another Dempster 12 Project
So here are more pictures. Hopefully someone can finally tell me if it is a 12 or 12A. Also if I should not buy parts from the guy on ebay, where should I go about finding them?

Re: Another Dempster 12 Project
The pipe mast diameter is 1-7/8" OD and the pipe mast clamp is stamped 01327. The guy at windmill-parts on ebay says his #12 pipe mast is 2" OD but also sells a bushing to make your own mast pipe saying is is for the 2-3/8" OD pipe for the 8ft #12A or 10ft #12. I found a post by Dave Straub that ...

Another Dempster 12 Project
So I got my Dempster taken down in Nebraska and hauled home to Colorado last week and have a couple of questions before I order any parts. The vane says 8' 12A, the bottom of the motor casting says 8' 12. I really don't know what the real differences are. However, someone told me that most of the ...

Re: New Kid on the block
I figured it was probably something like that since it has the ladder on the lower half and steps on the upper half. Apparently the tower is just bolted to 3 hedge posts, so no metal anchors in the ground anyway.
It looks like I am probably lucking out without even knowing it. Appears to be lots of ...
