Re: Woodmanse steel back gear.

Hmm. That could work if they have the in the correct size to slip in the pipe. And the oil impregnated would be good. I was planning on using the oil impregnated bushings to replace the main bearings on my F&W so I can just order them all together

Re: Woodmanse steel back gear.

Doesn't seem to be any way to oil it other than just slapping some grease on it. Looks like it was designed to be changed out rather quick and easily if you had a new one premade. I'll probably make 2 to have a spare. Yes I think the stripe is just to keep it from rotating, doesn't really seem like ...

Re: Woodmanse steel back gear.

That might be a bit difficult. It has a lip it sets on the top and a raised stripe going down one side to slot in the gap on the pipe and cap. I do not have any machining tools to duplicate that in a bushing

Re: Woodmanse steel back gear.

It's this one here. Not really a bearing, more of a guide to keep the rod centered and from wearing into the casting. About the only idea I can come up with to repour it would be to turn the whole mill upside down maybe?

That's pretty cool. You'll have to take the concrete and keep it with the tower! Haha

Anyone here ever re-pour the babbitt bearing in the upper pump/sucker rod guide on one of these?

Yea I saw that, I'm pretty sure it's the same one. Wheel and tail seem to be bent in the exact same way

Re: Help with mill id

Lol idk if they will go that low, they seem to know it's worth a bit. But if I can get them under $400 I'll be happy haha. But so far I haven't had any response from them. It was just updated few days ago so I'll just have to wait and see if they respond. Either way I have plenty other windmill ...
