Re: Aermotor 80ft Fire Lookout Tower
Yes, it is not Aermotor. I agree with Paul on probable Woodmanse. There was an Aermotor one close where I grew up. lookout mt davis.jpg A link to more about the Aermotor towers that FS used: http://www.friendsofstregis.org/a-history-of-aermotor-towers-by-fred-knauf/ The other ads on ebay for ...

Re: Old well I'd like to make functioning agian
I looked at the pics again and picked up something I missed the first time. There appears to be in the lower level concrete at grade the end of a barrel? Not sure why but could be a dug well under or a well that had a pit and was filled around? Just be careful of that. Never saw anything like that ...

Re: Old well I'd like to make functioning agian
Your side view pic of the top of the well casing is almost good enough to say that this a traditional setup of a 5 or 6" well casing with 2" drop pipe and wood rod. Those 2 pieces of plate under the T support the drop pipe on the casing top. If that is the type setup it is, the water in the drop ...

Re: X702 Spoke Brace
New spokes whether aermotor or after market
are going to have a different looking brace and not be timed. If your existing spokes are chicago era, you, you want to find two good vintage Chicago spokes

Re: X702 Spoke Brace
The 314 and 314 1/2 were only used with open gear thru 602. A true 702 Chicago spoke the brace is integral with the spoke shaft. Separate part braces are used in repairs and aftermarket where the hub/spokes aren't timed. Take some pics of what you have if you want to have it picked apart... Ron ...

Re: This One's Got Problems
I have gone off that exit different times to work on windmills on the other side of the interstate at Owl Head. I never took a close look at that 1 at the highway. But it has been in disrepair for a long time. The tail, spokes and motor are the only thing Conway, the rest is Chicago. It is a late ...

Some questions to help analyze: 1) Static water level and possible drawdown? 2) Is the gravity bottom check supplied with 442 still in place as well as the Simmons check? 3) When you say prime, I assume you are filling the pipe and it holds but doesnt have system pressure? Priming level above ...

There should also be a check valve off the discharge of the working head and the pressure tank? Back in the day these were set up with 20-40 switches. These type systems were very short lived because pumps come on board and were way more reliable. So I have to ask why it was set up? Head and psi are ...
