Re: Water flowing from well with pitless adapter
There wasn’t any followup from when you sought some advice on this well about a year ago. Was there a Baker Monitor setup below the hand pump and on top of the pitless? Or was there a stuffing box with packing or an IBT on top of the pitless? Attached is what the Baker Monitor hand pump diverter ...

Water flowing from well with pitless adapter
Our windmill is connected to a Baker Monitor pump. The drop pipe is connected to a pitless adapter and diverter that send water to a tank via a buried water line.
Two weeks ago I noticed that whenever the windmill was turning, water flowed from the flange on top of the well casing. This is curious ...

Re: Greetings from western Virginia
There is different ways that yours could be set up below that hand pump. You say there is no water In the hand pump or it just drains out when not pumping? If none at all ever, then it has to have a stuffing box below the pump. There would just be sucker rod between the stuffing box and the hand ...

Re: Greetings from western Virginia
Un clipping a pitless is easier than resetting it and a pump truck usage is appropriate.
Thanks Ron for that info. It does not surprise me to hear that the system is a collection of parts. You should see the variety of materials used when they built the cabin. :-) Nonetheless, it works, and ...

Re: Greetings from western Virginia
Welcome to the forum Dale. The distance from the bottom of the platform to the top of the upper step is a full step length. So I believe your mill is a 10', which is a B702. An 8' mill would typically have a 1/2 step length
under the platform.
The 8' and 10' mills take 2 qts of oil.
That is ...

Re: Greetings from western Virginia
Do you know what type of plumbing you have down the well? Do you need to pull the pipe and rod at one time, or can you just pull the rod out of an open-top cylinder? Oh here's a tip. Take mommas desk mirror out to look down the well. lol Sunlight beats any flashlight no matter how you slice it ...

Re: Greetings from western Virginia
Ok, so if you are a climber, and want to up, you can find out if it has oil in it or not. First of all what size is it?
Yeah, the climbing part is a bit daunting. I've gone up to the top, but not onto the platform. A local guy has a hydro lift. I am going to see if I can rent/borrow that to ...

Greetings from western Virginia
Hello folks, I am grateful this forum exists. As some others have noted in their intros, there aren’t many windmill resources here on the East Coast.
