Re: Imperial

Toronto are way harder to find, I would probably have more luck finding a Beatty or GS&M. I will let you know if I find anything that I can let go

Re: Imperial

Yes that could be, so how did you come up with that date for the Canadian Airmotor. Their power mill was also the same as Aermotor, then the later double open gear and self oiling models were different, probably their own creation.

Re: Imperial

Most around here are 8 foot Beatty's and GS&M Self Oiling models, open geared are a little harder to find. Open geared mills are my favorite because you can see how everything works. I will keep you in mind if I find anything.
looks like you're only around 5 hours away from me.

Re: Imperial

Does this mean in the future you could host the Internation Windmill Meet in Chesterville ? You have a great collection and space . Something to ponder . That will probably never happen. There aren't many people into windmills here in Canada, so most would be coming from the US and have to cross ...

Re: Imperial

Ron, I guess I will wait, sounds like a lot of repair work and I already have too many projects going on at the moment. I have no experience in pouring the bearings in a 602 and wouldn't know who could do it for me around here. I also can't get myself to let that Canadian Air motor go, that tail is ...

Re: Imperial

Hi Ron, I got the Imperial on trade for some anchor feet that I made for the guy's Beatty. Windmills don't fall out of the sky here but I've been pretty lucky the last couple of years and found some great windmills. I'm not sure yet what I'm doing with that wheel, it's not perfect and needs some ...

The last one was too much work, I don't really want to do that again, maybe if I find another one I can make one with the two.
Here's a video of how it works.

Re: Imperial

Isn't that the windmill that beat out all the others, including American made, in the contest in England back around 1900? Yes this is the one, they probably pumped a lot of water but I think they wore out pretty quick. If it's off by one tooth it will bind up and self destruct, that's why the gear ...
