Re: new in Canada
I have drilled out the spot and rewelded them but it's really hard to find the spot where to drill and not make a mess.

Re: new in Canada
Yes the Beatty wheel brackets are all spot welded on there and almost impossible to remove without destroying the whole sail. It's one of the hardest wheels to repair I find. How bad is the wheel bent up?
You can use the shaft out of the earlier model if it's good, they are the same.

Re: new in Canada
Heat the spokes where they thred in the hub and they should come loose. Also check the hub for cracks, water gets in between there and freezes and cracks the hub. If the main shaft is bent I wouldn't reuse it, you don't want it to brake and the wheel fall off.

Re: Beatty Windmill
Hi Jerry, yes lots of penetrating oil and patience. Sometimes if they are really rusted bad you have to sacrifice the shaft and use the torch to get the gears out. The shaft is easy to replace, gears and hub are hard to find. post some pictures so we can see. By the way, I'm in Eastern Ontario near ...

Re: Aermotor A502
Dan, I have had this mill since 2010, I was able to buy it at a local auction. I only cleaned it and put it back together. All the bearings were good, I got the tail from Chuck Jones at the trade fair in 2013. All that is mising is the oil flipper, it's broken off. The platform is also original, it ...
