I believe you’re correct in calling it an Appleton or at least the castings appear so. I have the same tower cap under my Butler, on a stub in my shop, as it fit and I understood the 903 to be Appleton when I researched it a few years back. I’d still take the gearbox off the mast pipe and look the mast pipe over. Good time to check the turntable cup and washer too.

Looks to be in decent shape.
When you pull the hub/shaft, you can check the main bearing babbit as you’ll need to add a spout washer that is either missing or broken. When it fell, is the mast pipe straight or did it bend in the fall?
