That is a strong possibility as I went and looked and saw some longer (about 122”) ones with holes.

Dan, I’d agree, but there are no bolt holes on the ends opposed of the twist on the longer ones. There are bolt holes about mid-way on the longer ones. The shorter ones have holes in the ends, opposed of the twist. I feel fairly confident they are tower components, but not on the make or exact usage...

I should have picked a partially galvanized one as there is some galvanization on others and there are at least two different lengths. You might ask your welder fellow if he ever worked on a Parish windmill. They were made in Earth, Texas as you relayed he had a welding shop in Earth.
