I'm was/am stuck on the Sub Tower and how to source/make one etc.

We had one hot summer, with it cooling of now maybe will get back into the project.

Sounds like finding a mast maybe somewhat of a challenge. Being this mill is not going to work Im not opposed to welding something up. What do these mill sit on? Looking at the parts diagram I cant tell if its some kind or bearing, just a flat spot with grease does not seem right?

I did see a flat spot on the hoop but did not see any lettering, I will take a closer look this weekend.

Here is a picture of the journal I was talking about that spins in the gear. When I look at the other gear that one is tight, looks like there is a little key cast in the gear to keep it from spinning.

Took most of the mill apart this past weekend, all the main bearings are good and tight, looks they have been poured not long ago so that does match what the previous owner noted.

One of the journals spins on the gear, its tight but not thinking its suppose to do that, being Im not going to work ...

I'm going to need to source the mast pipe and I assume the sub tower (think that's what its called). Whats the best place to look for you, your favorite parts supplier, ebay maybe?
