Well I spent 2 hours using wood wedges behind the cross bar and using a hardwood block to tapped against the back side of the cross bar. Also lots of penetrating oil. Thanks guys for the info. I do plan on taking my time and I have been taking detailed photos before I remove any parts. I'll send some photos later today.
