Re: Aeromotor Sail Parts and Pieces

Hmm, and mine is completely gone. The lip has to be 2.68 in diameter, but how long is it? Likes like 1/8 or less. I could put this in the lathe and bore that out a hair and put a sleeve in it.

Re: Aeromotor Sail Parts and Pieces

I haven't climbed up there to check on the snout and I don't think I will for a couple months as I don't like heights and I really don't like icy towers with high winds. :) Am doing what I can this winter inside the nice warm shop.

I don't see much wear on the hub, unless you are talking about on ...

Re: Aeromotor Sail Parts and Pieces

Thanks, I pretend to know what I am doing until it works. Taking a break from the sails, I very carefully drilled out the main shaft and drove it out.

The old one just broke off and fell to the ground, that's why I am fixing the sails. Instead of press ...

Re: Aeromotor Sail Parts and Pieces

I made a round block of wood to hammer against and I do one sail every couple days, I don't want to get burned out by doing them all in a row.

When you take the sail off that weird little bracket, do you just bend the tabs out of the way (Blue Arrow), sometimes the tabs just break off (orange arrow ...

Aeromotor Sail Parts and Pieces

I'm rebuilding the sails on an 8ft Aermotor and have a couple questions.

I know I can get entire sails direct from Aermotor, but some of mine aren't all bad so I was thinking I would rebuild them.

Is the basic process just to grind off the rivets, take them apart, form them basically into shape ...

Re: Hopefully an easy one

Sorry for the delay in responding. I didn't realize you all were so active. I ended up not purchasing it as they wanted $1000, which seems more than it's worth. I have an Aeromotor 8 footer than I am already working on and I was mostly after a better tower.

Re: Hopefully an easy one

Not yet. I'm going to try and lower the tower this weekend.

I'm new to the forum, is there a "Read This First" that talks about how to lower the tower, how to....

Re: Hopefully an easy one

Are parts available? I know for my Aeromotor I can get most anything.
