Re: another one
The 1st photo in this thread show the lack of a round hole on the pitman arm , today project was to start making a brass bushing , only took 18 oz of brass to fill the cavity . next step to make both holes parallel & bore for small drive gear . Mike - Did you just fill that with braze or did yo...

Re: Flint & Walling
Thank you for that info Ed. Interesting cause all the trade litterateur i have on Flint and Walking only tells of when it was introduced in 1913 as a 8 1/2 wooden wheel only and then again with a repair list for the model 13 wooden wheel only in 1921. Yes the 13 & 15 were both direct stroke.

Re: Flint & Walling
Mr Ed i believe the model 13 was a wooden wheel mill only. The wheel is definitely a model 12 with those wrap around sail ties. Dan - Both the 13 & 15 were available with wood or steel wheel. I think all of the steel wheel versions from this series had the wrap around sail ties, I know both the...

Is it the famous pic of Windy with his ex-President friend?? I can't wait to get to work tomorrow (have not said that...

100% F&W, Most likely a Star 12 ... but something looks funny (might just be camera angle). Star 13 & 15 were two direct stroke models in that series, so one of the 3. I was able to blow the pic up ... Star 12. Some shadows had me wondering before ... but now can see it in the enlarged pic.

Re: what material ?
I would not worry about the lanolin. I THINK it will mix with oil. I would say clean it up the best you can and use it.

Re: Graphite challenge bearings
Dan, what material did he use? By the pics I am guessing sintered bronze (aka Oilite/oil impregnated).
