Re: FM Eclipse found today. Model? Worth getting?
Thanks again, Windy. Well, I can't do what I used to either; so we're the same. Ha. I hope my 45 doesn't stall out long enough that I'll have to find another mil to work on while I'm waiting. Or, ..... maybe that would be good............

Re: FM Eclipse found today. Model? Worth getting?
Thanks, Windy. So your, "45," is again operating, but only after a lot of headaches and having had to press in brass sleeve bearings. I intend to continue on trying to get mine unstuck. If it takes 6 months. etc., ..... OK. If it won't unstick, I'll take it to someone who can get rougher w...

Re: FM Eclipse found today. Model? Worth getting?
Update, (although not much....) I try to not bother folks too often, and I think Dan Benjamin is kept really busy. We did catch each other last week by telephone about my FM 45. I then sent him photos and a list of what I have missing. He almost instantly emailed back telling me my 8-foot FM was rea...

Wayne, I'd be interested in seeing a photo of what you did do. Thanks for comment too.

Re: Windmill or pump connection.....or??
Bingo guys: what a difference the correct term makes. With it, I found an end-clamp for sale on line with the same casting number and measurements as my two end clamps on the beam. It was listed as a Dempster windmill pump jack cross head end clamp. So if they have the mfg. name correct, I have a De...

Re: FM 45 pull out assembly: how does it work?
Next: That mysterious bar that shows in the vertical photo of the mill still in my truck; just as I brought it home. ...... I was searching every fb entry I could last night on another windmill page. Came across the photo attached of his FM 45. Bingo. There is the casting with a roller that I had wi...

Re: FM 45 pull out assembly: how does it work?
With the 2-piece collar back on it, I can sight down, inside the sleeve and see clear through the whole thing. The slot/internal channel is cut clear through the end flange. The flange stops the sleeve from sliding out of the collar. If that makes sense. I was just looking at your parts pages; will ...

Re: FM 45 pull out assembly: how does it work?
Fast! Your first red text: agreed. Second red text: (terminology - meant to say stormstay. Ooops) Evidently I did not get a stormstay with this windmill. Now to find one; picture would be good start. Your last statement: On this two-piece part there is the long squared internal channel, (slot), seen...

Re: FM 45 pull out assembly: how does it work?
(I'm ignorant about moving photos around in these posts, so...) Referring back, above somewhere, to my vertical photo of the back of my truck. You circled the, "spider," that I was trying to call a sway brace. Now I can see it is probably no more than a guide for the pair of pull-out rods....
