Windy, If I was going to be doing any more than the one of these, I'd be buying one myself. But I just won't ever use it after this project. And my sails are in decent shape so I shouldn't need to work on them.

Paul gave the motion, I'd like to second it. I'm stalled out on my project at the moment, because life. Watching other windmill projects progress lets me live vicariously, and it keeps me motivated to get back to my own project when the time finally allows.

So does that mean you can pump more water with wood sucker rods than with steel or fiberglass? I imagine the difference is felt more on a deeper well. So other than sourcing the things, what's the downfall to using wood sucker rods?
