Dempster #14

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Walmart has paint pins that works great for painting numbers and letters. I used it on my pumps that are on my porch and it seems to be holding up hasn't started fading yet.

Your hands steader than mine. I make a mess trying to use a paint brush, seems like there is always some loose bristles that put paint where I don't want it.

Terry can you post some pictures of the fan hinges and the wheel brace if you have that part of the mill assembled? I am missing all12 hinges and the 6 wheel braces. I have some extra Monitor L hinge plates and braces that I think might work but would need to know how long the wheel sections are when ready to be installed .I know that the long wheel circle is 43 inches without the hinges That dimension came from the parts list. Also do not know how long the wheel slats are.
Thanks

I will get you some pictures of the wheel clips.
I don't have the wheel sections put together yet. But I do have the wood rims and blades. The blades are 36 to 36 1/2 '' long.
Dan B. said the dog bones are a piece of flat iron with the ends bent at a 90 deg. with a cast iron piece bolted in the middle of the flat iron. I should have that measurement in a few days.
Dan B. is sending me the dog bones(wheel brace) that stuff should be here in a few days.
The dog bone clip are made like the shipper spider with the extra rod holder on them. Look at the picture in the 4th post in this thread.
The Monitor "L" wheel clips have the extra pointed arm on them the 14 don't have that.
The end of the wheel clip is 3/4 '' wide. 3/4 X 2 = 1 1/2'' + 43' = 44 1/2
