What do I do with this? Mig weld? Make a new piece and try to rivet it like original?

I would make a new piece and bolt it on.

Thanks guys. Would probably be stronger that way. I have some wrecked sails that could donate some metal for that. So another question. The butler mill has nice red scallops painted on the ends of the blades im just not sure both sides or only one side?
