Building a Tower

Post by Wayne »

Someone was asking about building a wooden tower. Yesterday while looking at old pictures I found these of the first tower I ever built. Was trying to win the hand of a fair lady so I decided to give her a windmill. Windmill was a Dempster #12. The only windmill I had was a Monitor Model L on a tower built out of square tubing. Used a Dempster top cap and storm stay to get my angles didn't have a clue about what size angle iron to use so we used 1/4 inch. every where. Wouldn't ever do it again. Man got tired of drilling holes.
The caught the fair lady to only realize later I wish I hadn't. She ran me off which ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me. :D

No. I gave it to a guy who let me use his tractor to load my stuff.
