Just finished assembling this Aerodyne, ca 1930 and yes it is a water pumper so I think I’m legitimate in this forum category...but it is also a32V wind generator. Pretty much original condition, all I did was clean it up, make the tower and the sail. It was taken down about 45yrs ago and stored in a barn.
It is unique to say the least, 3 blade down wind, flyweight governor controls flaps on the blades. Generator is inside out, armature rotates around the stationary field coil. Water pumping gearbox is always engaged. 800lbs on the tower.
Aerodyne had another model, same time frame with counter rotating props. Armature and field rotating in opposite directions. Keep your eye out for that one.

Wow! Mike neat stuff. I bet you needed deep pockets to get it in your yard.
