Well the Cowley Num 1 mounted on a T.O. Perry Wooden Tilting Derrick is complete. Patent num 431,991 Patented July 8, 1890 Don't know if Aermotor ever built a wooden tilting derrick because they also came out with the metal tilting derrick about that same time. I hope Paul approves or I may have to remove his name. Without him building the head things wouldn't be where they are so I give him a big time thanks.

The Winter 1997, Windmillers' Gazette has an article on tilting towers. The Aermotor Co. built wood tilting towers from about 1888 to 1892 when they were phased out to be replaced by the metal towers. Also listed in this article is the repair price list for wood tilting towers. Other companies also marketed tilting towers.
I put it out on my Gas station porch to watch it spin in the wind. Looked good. Got me some 1/4 hardwood dowels and made me some sucker rods. Worked like I had hoped!
