Monarch Windmill

Post by sshosier »

I've been sitting on this project for a while now. I salvaged this windmill when I was 17 and it is what got me started with my love of windmills. I'm told this is a pretty rare one. I had the tower erected at my parents farm for many years and used it as a hunting stand / look out tower with a 4'x4' platform on top. Right now it is all on the ground and moved over to my current place. I have dismantled the head (no wheel or tail). It will need some work to restore. It has a few damaged parts that will need addressed. The tower is supposed to be 30' tall but is currently sitting at 23' missing the bottom of the legs. My thoughts were to restore the head and display it on a stub tower. Here are some pictures for you.

Cool! With some pictures of the rest of it, you could fashion a wheel and tail, and have it complete. Neat iron.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number.
