Mystery part

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Found this under my Dempster 14. Not sure if it belongs. Any ideas?

That's an old style Dempster pullout tube. That bottom part should be free to spin. Not sure if it's actually for the 14. I'm not familiar with that mill. Could be though.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number.

Oh tell me more! The bottom part does spin. So the flat iron hooks to the pullout chain and the u bolt hangs down? Doesn't that Interfere with the wooden pump rod and swivel?

Yes and no. The L bar goes thru the tower legs to keep the swivel from rotating.

Yes the top hooks to the chain.

If the pumprod is long enough it will be below the U bolt. The pumprod should have a swivel so the wood pole does not rotate.
