Woodmanse model identification

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Woodmanse model identification

Post by Time2run21 »

I recently purchased a Woodmanse oil bath mill it has a 10’ head. Is there any stamping on it that would suggest what model it is? Are the 8’ models and the 10’ gear boxes different? Any help would be appreciated thank in advance I do also have pictures

I will re-check the windmill bible for facts. 8 ft and 10 ft should be different, altho i seem to recall a Mogul was a beefed-up head of a smaller size? I will check. The model you have pics of here was fairly common I think. Not sure if it's a 10 ft head though, because the hubs only have single bolt holes. I would think they would be double holed. Not sure. More info later after a refresher course in the morn.

I had all of the head together on it and it’s definitely 10 feet and the tail looks exactly like the one in the picture

Ok. You might turn the wheel sections around? Looks like they are on facing the wrong way.
