Help identifying this machine

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Help identifying this machine

Post by Will Wilson »

Hello all,

I got outbid on this unit on Craigslist but am still curious as to what make it is. I am located in Southern California. This had a three legged tower with it. Any help is appreciated!

That's an early Fairbanks. The wheel clips and that bead at the very tip of the sail is a sure give away...

I was not sure, but did look up early Fairbanks in the green book. They had a model W for a short time also.

I like the simplicity of the design single gear minimal parts

Windy you sound like what a fellow said about me one time. If I live to be a 100 I couldn't finish all my projects. Told him I'll sure have fun trying.
