They had horse drawn pickers but not very many, I have collected horse drawn machinery for about 35 years and never seen one. I got a parts book for an IH one made in the 20s and I am posting a photo of one but even in the 40s the majority was hand picked. If you find a horse drawn one I would suspect it would be like finding a 12 ft Iron Turbine.

In my book Encyclopedia of American Farm Implements and Antiques it tells the earliest corn pickers didn't come in until early 1900's . So they wouldn't of had one in 1854. In my 150 years of IHC it tells that the D.M. Osborne Co presented a corn Binder at the 1893 World's Fair, and IHC came out with there's in 1895
