Windmill erector

Post by joe herman »

I just received my latest copy of Farm Show Magazine printed in Lakeville Mn.

There is an interesting article featuring a fellow by the name of Phil Gehman operating under
the name Great Plains Windmill Service in Kinross,Iowa.
His web site is www.greatplainswindmills.com
Might want to check it out.
He has an email address and think that I will contact him and mention our forum.
Good chance he would be interested and become a member. He has operated his
business since 2007 and might be able to add to the forum`s information bank.

The Farm Show`s web site is www.farmshow.com

The Gehmans are Mennonite but not sure what their bishop allows. I know they have a website and email. I stopped in to see them when I was doing work in IA around 2015 or so. It was the dad, Daryl and I think 3 sons were in the business. Glen,a son, was killed in an unfortunate windmill accident in 2017. Phil I think is another son. They did nice work but I think they mostly assembled new versus much rebuilding and predominantly worked on Aermotor.

Ron your information matches what is written in the Farm Show magazine article.
They deal mostly in Aermotors. If you go go to their web site they mention
prices that seem a bit high but that probably goes by the state they work in.

My knowledge of the Mennonites is they are honest, will do the job right and stand behind there work. So sometime that extra buck or two in price pays off.
