Special Aermotor Parts

Post by Ron Stauffer »

I have moved some of this stuff several times and doubtful I will ever use.

From L to R

F703 hub - very early 702 hub that takes the 602 style screw in smooth spoke, can be adapted to accept 736 spoke

Pair each of "A" and "B" pitman arms for Aermotor pumpjack, yes they are different from ones used in mills

NOS B723 hub - special hub to allow use of V spokes on 702 motor

X723 hub & shaft - special hub to allow use of V spokes on 702 motor, shaft serviceable

Two 8' hoops that have remnants of wire oil flicker of the 502

Two A753 and one B753 - allows use of 602 main gears in a 702 motor

In front - NOS bone for B502, pretty sure or B612 if not

L and R of the shorter 15" tower steps

The interesting thing is that in the 14 & 16, they called it the 703 hub and in the 12 and smaller the 723 hub. The 723 hub I have seen up until 1940. The 14 & 16 703 that took the smooth shank spoke, I have only seen in 1933 and 1934. Whenever they changed the thread depth for the 736 spoke, they still called it the 703. Then sometime in the late 1940s they had at least in 14, a hub marked 703 1/2 with little discernible difference.

From what I gleaned in Aermotor literature. the 723 was an upgrade motor option and not sold as a complete mill. The E and F 703 was the only hub produced during the 602/702 transition with the only difference being the size of the hub shaft when it went from 602 to 702.
