Those Elgin ball weights are full of holes. Tower holes I mean. There must have been a guy sweep up in the shop, then measure out a certain weight amount of them and use them for furling counter weights. Also little bits of corners of angle iron. I think there were 3 or 4 pounds in my Tip Top weight.

I've got a Duplex book that tells you to put 34lbs of rock in the ball. In an Elgin Wonder B it was full of all the pieces from where they had punched the holes in the angle iron.
