30' Aermotor Tower??

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

30' Aermotor Tower??

Post by mbaltrotsky »

Hello everyone! I am looking for some info on what I believe is an Aermotor Tower. The tower has two sections, an A674 base and mast pipe. Everything I see online talks about a 27' and 33' but nothing about a 30'. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!!

A picture would help ID it. It's very possible to have mis-match, a different tower, with an Aermotor stub tower on the top. Quite common.

The part number is aermoter.if the top of the tower is notched and fits tight against the mast pipe and squeezed together with a square clamp and has four bolts that holds the tower together under the clamp it's aermoter

That's an early tower with the slotted round head bolts.the first hoop step ladder on a aermoter tower was around 1899.yours is right around that i believe.you have alot of work ahead of you straightening that tower.Good luck.

Thanks!! Do you have any idea what mill hung on that style tower? I believe based on the A674 mast it was likely an 8' wheel??

It probably was a 8ft model 602 . It might of had an open gear on it originally and then was updated to a oil bath.Aermotor pushed that on there customers.
