Vintage pictures of Mills/ abandoned farms

Post by Joshschneids »

Hey Guys! Hope everyone is having a happy new year. Currently -14 Celcius here in Ontario and i am enjoying a warm fire and looking through stuff on the internet. One thing i have found from loving windmills is that i love the old homesteads/ Farms that often are nearby the mill and love to find old pictures that were taken back in the day or currently of old run down places. Thought i would make this thread for everyone to post pictures of old rundown places with or without mills and just vintage pictures of homesteads way back when. Something about looking at these old photographs i love. I will start off with a couple i found online. One is so perfect with the car, abandoned mill, twisted house it is just perfect. Share away. Josh

By the way what mill do you think that is in the abandoned pic?

The first pic is definitely a Dempster. It says so on the tail.Does the dempster looks like this picture. It also has an 8 or a s. I The second pic could be a wind gen, but I don't think so. That tail has star shape all over it.[attachment=0]Dempster # 8 literature.pdf[/attachment

The second one might be a 1500W Wincharger missing the gen, props and governor obviously. Pretty big wind gen to put on the roof so maybe the tower goes to the ground behind the house. Otherwise would shake the house apart if became unbalanced....maybe that's what happened to the place

So your saying shake rattle and roll Mike. If the house was shaking it'd help with your dance moves!
