Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

The hub you have is to a 8ft mill. Measure the length of your sails that will determine the size of the wheel

From the numbers on the vane hinges and furling parts fixed on the rear end it is a ten footer.
Any idea what the 10 ft hub diameter is and what it looks like?
The wheel arms I have will not fit properly on the 8 foot hub.
The tips are even and 5 and 1/2 icnhes apart.

The 10ft hub looks just like your 8ft hub just a little bigger. Those arms sound like there to narrow i Wonder if somehow they fabricated them to bolt to the tire rim that fit on that rear end

The arms do look like they were reformed. One leg has a double L bend so that both legs
are even.Putting that bend in makes the ends 5 and 1 /2 inches apart not the 6 inches on the
hub.Looks like they custom made a double ring rim to bolt to the 10 bolt brake drum.
It`s too bad this item was not found with the mill. I had wanted to take a metal detector to
the site and make a thorough search. The land lowner had taken it upon himself to level the
site maybe burying the rim if it was there. Will never know.
When I get the hub and drum from Mike and it fits there will not be problem making what is needed.

I'm sure you'll figure it out Joe it's gonna take time and alot of concentration.Ive stared at many mills for hours trying to figure out what's missing what the part might look like and the purpose. And when you figure it out that makes it all worth it.keep us informed.

Nothing is going to happen til spring. With climate change events that could happen as early as February or
late as April.
Thanks for taking an interest in this project.Might be one of a kind and would like to get the
mill up and working.
