Thanks fellows. Now you can help me celebrate my birthday by telling me what the weird looking knife was made for. Went to first Monday Trade Days at Canton with the purpose of buying me some useless items for my birthday. I love blacksmith made items. The spring hook and the knife were made by a blacksmith of old. The fork of the knife the left side is the main blade then the blacksmith added the right side blade by matting it with the main blade. The wedge is held in place with half inch pin. If they beat on the top edge they did it with a wooden maul because it doesn't show. So there you are. My mystery tool. :D

An update on my what is it. Some believe it is used to strip sugar cane. A fellow responded to my post in Smokstak with a video of one being built, but that one had a long handle and was used in standing sugar cane. If mine is for stripping cane it would be for after it was cut.
