Today the bull gear got painted battleship grey .

I'm pretty sure Stover's main color was black. Might keep an eye out under nuts and bolts etc see if you can spot original.

3 holes for the pitman arm to fit into on the external bull gear .

Too many years and too much rust , could not find any hint of color , so , i went with basic black , factory origional equipment black .

A little while back there was a lot of conversation about making copper covers for the open gear oilers .
Went to the 2 plumbing wholesalers here in town but nothing was close to fitting as a weather cover .
Today I took the easy way out , not the most authentic but they keep the elements out of the important oiling points .
One is a wooden plug .
another is a pipe with a washer brazed on top to keep the elements out .
last a galvanized threaded plug over the hole .
Which one do you like best ?
