Another Bell Hub rescue
I found this bell hub in the same area of the barn find Bell Hub that turned out to be one of the first bell hubs made. The owner finally got hold of me and I'm going this spring to rescue the old girl. It looks bigger than a 8ftr?

Amazing you find them in your area, where I live there are hundreds of 6 and 702s within 50 miles and I have never even seen a bell hum in the wild! Congratulations!

Maybe your area is like down here in Texas. Most people were so poor if they had something they could sell and buy groceries for another day or two, it was gone. They didn't hang on to anything that had out lived it's use fullness.

Kansas Rust Buzzard we have a lot of 602s up here too but most people aren't willing to part with them even though they're not working and in poor condition. I've only seen a hand full of of 702s. Wayne most the early farmers here were Dutch or German decent and handed down to family and they usually didn't get rid of anything. The German family that lived next to me when growing up still have everything since they were kids. Toys, etc, etc and they're all in there 60s.

Yeah Windy the Dandy tower I took down had the bottom of the head and tower pipe but the top had been cut off with a cutting torch. Made me think maybe war time scrap drive was why.
