clean out PM box

Members that do not log in don`t know they have messages in their in box.
Is this correct?

Joe- the forum sends an email notification to the member when they have a new private message.

Paul I have not received an email when I had messages.Maybe I had logged in before
a reminder that a message was waiting.When I log in the notications or private messages
icons light up in red so I know to check.
I have 3 messages in my outbox that have been there for at least 2 months.
I a\m thinking those members never log in or know what the red indicates.
I don`t know how many members provide an email address.

Joe, you can check to see if you have notifications turned on for private messages. User control panel --> Board preferences --> Edit notification options

A valid email address is required to join the forum.

I'm the same. Not getting an email, but I look when I log in as to how many messages I have and it shows in the message count and notifications if I have a new one. I know how many I had the day before.
