We have a wood wheel vane less windmill of unknown manufacture.

Wayne, I would love to see a picture! Count the sections on this, its pretty big. I am suspicious it is a powermill pressing molasses as it looks like cane stacked up in the fore ground. Most cane mills had a team that went round and round but some here were belt driven so that is my bet but hey, I have been wrong before!

You are right about the big wheel I guess that is why they have two counter weights. One wasn't enough. Plus it seems to have a big mass setting over the tower. So may have been the gears driving the drive shaft.
