Wolf Brand Chili Mobile

Post by Wayne »

Little history. You fellows up north may never have had a bowl of Wolf Brand Chili and not know what I'm talking about. Wolf Brand Chili had it's beginning here in Corsicana. A Butcher named Lyman would take his cuttings and make chili and sell a bowl for 5 cents and all the crackers you could eat on Beaton street. When they started canning it they changed the name to Wolf Brand because he had a pet wolf. They built these Wolf Brand Chili Mobiles for their traveling sales people. Had one lady who drove around and sold for them. Here is a couple of pictures taken yesterday as they delivered a remade one to Pioneer Village. It ran out of gas as he was trying to get it in the barn. So we had to push it into it's new home.

I can say I've never had wolf brand chili i usually make my own hot enough so my forehead sweats. That is a really cool truck and love the idea they still delivered. Isn't it hot enough down there with out eating hot chili.

Mike, If you came back for another tour I would give you the deluxe 50 cent tour and could get you into all the top spots free. My X wife used to say I told people way more than they wanted to know, I think she was jealous and being tacky.
