Thanks everyone. I tend to overkill everything, and the strap on the top probably wasn’t needed but I didn’t figure it would hurt anything.

Mark, that's not overkill. I've see repairs like that with a big piece of angle welded, or something really wild, like a quarter inch piece of steel that overhangs both sides. lol Yours looks perfectly adequate and tasteful.
