Horwood Bagshaw (Metters) Windmill

Post by jack »

Hello, is there someone who knows about old windmills/old windpumps.
I have a Horwood Bagshaw/Metters over a bore and the pump rod that
extends out of the bottom of the gearbox is worn nearly through from
scraping on the side of the gearbox casing. I have spare steel rods
and so I need to know the type and size of the thread at either end
of the pump rod, for instance: 7/16 or 1/2 inch, and Whitworth or
BSF etc. thanks

There is a collector in Canada that has several Australian mills maybe he will have some info. There is a Windmill Journal that comes out of Morawa Western Autralia. They are connected to the Morawa District Historical Society. One of the ladies is named Helen Walter. Her email is mal50walter@wn.com.au. If you contact her she might be able to direct you to someone that can answer your question. Tell her Wayne Rogers sent you. Good luck
